Press Release.
From out of love and respect for the Delta and Chicago blues tradition comes the quartet "CPH Slim", with "Danish Bluesartist of the Year 2009" aka Nisse Thorbjørn as frontman, leaping into a universe of soul, blues and jazz. The quartets strong originality and ability to reinterprit the good old genres creates an intensely charged atmosphere.

Chicago.
Ten years ago i woke up on a bench in Chicago. After 3 months i was down to my last dollar. Three months with Jam sessions at "Buddy Guys legends" followed by invitations to sit in with many of the people whose records i'd listened to so many times. I went to Chicagos Southside where i played with Billy Branch. Jeg sat in with Lurrie Bell at Kingston Mines and was a guest with John Primer who used to play Leadguitar for Muddy Waters.

CPH Slim.
Danish blues legend Peter Thorup asked me to keep it simple: "Not too many notes." i was 18 years old and had been given the opportunity to play with one of my biggest blues heroes. Maybe that was what later in life gave me the courage to get on stage in a chicago bluesbar where the jam crowd after several attempts to say my name gave "the young man from Copenhagen" the alias "Copenhagen Slim".

Recording.
Peter Thorup passed away August 3. 2007. I had a few months earlier been in the studio with him, recording his vocal on the song "Goin down to Gainesville" that i'd written in Chicago. "I think we have something really good here." Thorup said, and it was wierd so soon after to be holding his last recording in my hands. The release got lots of praise, and i was particularly proud of the duet with Kira skov on the Leadbelly song "Where did you sleep last night". The Cd came out in 2009 on Cope Records and got Danish National radio airplay and critical acclaim.
